Biden is polling at 45 percent in the CNN/ORC poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
He trails Joe Biden and former vice president Joe Biden Sr. by 4 points, according the CNN poll, but the margin of sampling error is +/- 4.4 points.
Biden leads Hillary Clinton by 8 points in the poll, with Clinton leading by 13 points among Democrats.
Biden has seen his approval ratings climb since taking over the job of vice president, with 47 percent approving of the job he is doing.
Clinton’s approval rating is 46 percent, but Biden’s approval has dropped to 39 percent.
Biden’s disapproval is 42 percent, with Trump leading with 32 percent.
Among Republicans, the CNN survey shows that Trump leads with 36 percent approval and Biden with 27 percent disapproval.
Trump is leading with 39 percent approval, while Biden has 26 percent approval.
The poll also shows that Biden’s numbers are in line with those of other Republicans, although he trails Clinton by 3 points.
